We want people to take part in regular gardening activities - clearing up gardens, weeding, planting fruit bushes and fruit trees, bulb planting, and planting vegetables.
We provide gardening gloves and tools but please wear good shoes, warm clothes (in layers), and if you have your own gardening gloves or secateurs that would be helpful.
We are residents from the local area working to green up three estates - Patmore, Carey Gardens and Savona. We come together every Friday morning 10-12 to garden around the local area, helping people who cannot look after their own gardens, and developing more wildlife and food growing areas in the public spaces.
Beneficiaries are people who are too frail to look after their own gardens, as well as users of the sheltered housing, the local school and one o'clock club, users of the community centre, and residents of the estates. We move around and work on a different space each week.
