Woodcroft Wildspace is an educational wildspace for the benefit of the whole of Enfield.

The Downes Court entrance has been closed off for many years resulting in it being overgrown and disused. It was re-opened in January 2018 and has been prepared for this project by the community volunteers installing logged borders infilled with composted woodchip for the flower beds and a new woodchip pathway.

The Greggs Foundation grant activities are:-

  • Installation of trellis and posts for the climbing plants on the adjacent fences
  • Purchase and planting of a variety of native flowering and fragrant plants
  • Installation of a visitor counter to quantify the increased community benefit derived from the grant
  • Install signage to advertise the new pedestrian entrance and Greggs sponsorship
