The Wave - and start of Copenhagen

What a great weekend.  Saturday 5th December - The Wave march for strong climate action at Copenhagen.  Saturday started out sunny, and spirits were up looking forward to what was billed as the UK's biggest public action on Climate Change. As midday came around, the storm clouds were gathering though, and by early afternoon it was ... Planning changes in the UK

Fantastic news from the UK; the planning rules - which, to be honest, seem pretty archaic at times - are being relaxed to make it easier to "go green"!  Tuesday's announcement from Planning minister John Healey saw red tape cut from two specific areas, notorious for getting people snarled up in the planning system, when all they rea... Im 30 on Saturday

Wooah – I’m going to be 30 on Saturday … a bit of a milestone some may say. I’d like to think of it as a good reason to have a party, get old friends together and drink too much!   A friend said to me the other day turning 30 was a great thing. It was like a watershed in one’s life when you stop learning an... Continue reading Im 30 on Saturday

Got that sinking feeling?
Last month, the Cabinet of the Maldives Government met 20 feet underwater in what was possibly the most stunning Cabinet meeting location ever, deep under the beautiful Indian Ocean. They were doing it to raise awareness of climate change; living in a country whi… Continue

Vegetarian? Stern causes a stir!

Well, it’s good to have a little heated debate every now and again on the finer points of HOW we can become a low carbon society, not just WHETHER we need to do so. And here is the latest. Lord Nicholas Stern of Brentford (yes, he of the Stern report fame) sug… Continue

Yes please, help on doodle "widget" would be useful, if you could just outline the process then I will do a learning curve experiment on setting it up myself.

Thanks for your comment. The Draught busting was a success and there is demand for more- which we are trying to organise. We used the Hyde Farm CAN and ASSA CAN stock and followed their format. I have created a page it called Telford Park Climate Action Network in the projects. Can you tell me how to create an area for uploading information such as the 'How to Draught-proof your house' stuff?

Thanks for the well-wishes, Nick. Scout's OK. She had surgery on her back left knee yesterday (her cruciate ligament had torn). She's still pretty groggy from the full anaesthetic and her knee probably hurts. But she'll be OK. She's young.

Hope last night's drinks was fun.
