Without sustainablity there is no future for substantial numbers of humans (and many other species). I endevour to be a compassionate person (ethical vegan) with a global perspective which informs my views and actions. I want to work to create a just and sane future..
Continue to strive for the whole reduce, re-use and recycle goal. Changed my whole diet and consumption habits over the last 2 years to reflect my desire to tread lightly on the planet that we inhabit and I speak to people about this whenver possible. I am willing to turn my hand to new things and not afraid of hard graft!
Did a weekend course in 'urban permaculture design' in June 09, so looking to further my involvement in all things related. Looking into solar energy, water capture and recycling etc for my home,

Thanks for your support in the Free Solar bid. We had over 550 people send emails and post comments.
Despite the clear public interest in our proposal, our bid was unfortunately not successful and we will not be able to offer free solar panels under this project. We didn't win this one but Lambeth Superhomes continues to look for ways to work with communities to deliver financed ‘whole house’ eco-renovation delivered by trained local tradespeople.
Hi Neill
Let me know if you want to get involved with organising any events for Project Dirt in the future! And if you want to start blogging (try clicking the PD blog letters under your picture) then we could sort out a feature blog on our front page. Just a thought. Cheers mate!
Nick
Sorry for the confusion. I am a workshop facilitator and will be deomnstrating to the cdhildren. Because I will be seeing 30 children per session, I could really do with an extra pair of hands... sort of like what a Teaching Assistant does in a classroom..
The sort of thing I envisage a volunteer doing is:
- helping children settle down
- helping encourage children to listen properly to instructions
- re-iterating instructions to children who may not have been listening properly
or are struggling to take instructions on board
I will lead the workshop and you will have no responsibility on that side of things, unless you want it? It sounds like you know a lot about the issues I will be trying to discuss with the children around sustainability so thats great.
The fact you have worked with vulnerable people before is a bonus - the step to working with children should be ok. Do you have a CRB check?
Hi it would involve working with groups of primary school age children teaching them how to make attratcive gifts, art and jewlerry out of junk (hence the need for tetra-packs)
Hi Neill,
Welcome to Project Dirt, I'm volunteering with them at the moment so if there's anything about the site I can help with, let me know. Enjoy and I hope you find it useful.
Best wishes,
Jess

Have you sent your request to other groups as well? Is Hyde Farm close to you? B

I will post future initiatives on my blog.
All the best

I would very much like to meet up with some of the Team behind TTT - can you help?

Hope you can come Tuesday.

Have you ever worked with young people before?
