It would be great if you could come down to our BYO BBQ one night at the Union Street Urban Orchard. SEE Event on 21/08/10
I could do with picking your brain... about our next step (web2.0)
Thanks for your comments.
Our journey to organic & carbon-neutral status:
Recently I have presented our journey from complete non-farmers to one of the first organic carbon-neutral beef & lamb farms at The Royal Agricultural College and also at the last Transition Movement's International conference. I would be very happy to combine our next delivery to London on 25th August (or later deliveries) with a talk/ presentation at a suitable event. Just let me know if a London group may be interested.
At the last Transition conference I proposed a scheme to link rural and urban Transition groups together. Rural groups, like ours, can supply food using carbon-neutral growing and transport methods. Urban groups can provide the energy and enthusiasm of young people - such as working on farms for food, accommodation and a holiday.
In the meantime Field Power are making carbon-neutral deliveries of our organic, grass-fed, native breeds beef and lamb boxes, which are also carbon neutral - one of the first farms to fully convert - our water, water heating, space heating, electricity and transport fuel utilises/ is made of renewables. You can read about the details here: http://www.bigbarn.co.uk/ or place an order here: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Cottage-Farm-Shop. We deliver just once per month, every last Wednesday and quite a few people find it convenient to share a box. And btw, our prices are lower than supermarkets' prices for chemical meat!
Cheers
Paul
All the best in the meantime!
