Making environmental change happen

Are there any plans to campaign for good cycle lanes in Streatham? The cycle superhighway scheme is due to start building the first of its routes this year, with one going from Merton to The City via Tooting, Balham, Clapham and Kennington. Surely there is a great case for another branch, possibly from as far South as Croydon, following the A23 up through Streatham & Brixton. The Council & TFL already agree that improvements are needed to the road, with wider pavements, trees etc, so why not include a cycle highway too? Streatham High Road is certainly wide enough to accomodate one.
Also perhaps, a south circular cycle highway connecting the other routes would be a possibility.

Hi

I think there probably is and I imagine that there are people amongst Sustainable Streatham who would be interested in campaigning. Why don't you put something together and I will send it out in the next SuS Update
