Hi there; I'm a student at Imperial and I'm involved with a pilot scheme to get students interested in cooking, food culture and responsible farming. It's funded by Riverford Organic (a farming co-op whose principles I really admire - check out the website) in a bid enthuse students about food and discuss the issues surrounding it. I've attached some documents that explain a little more fully, but briefly:
- Someone hosts a lunch for a group of friends where the theme is to discuss cooking and ethical eating
- Riverford provides the ingredients from the farm and a professional to prepare the lunch - all for free
Riverford hopes to raise the profile of its principles and products, and to get more people eating seasonal, local food - ideally grown by them!
I hope this is of interest; let me know
Cato
