The Bigger Picture: A Festival of Interdependence is a free public event on London's South Bank brought to you by nef (the new economics foundation) and a range of partner organisations.

- Big conversations: with over thirty speakers, including Susan George, Colin Tudge, Andrew Simms, Susie Orbach, Caroline Lucas, Oliver James, Richard Wilkinson, Kate Pickett, Paul Kingsnorth, Jay Griffiths, Fred Pearce, Rosie Boycott and Ann Pettifor.

- Re-skilling workshops: learn to keep bees, build a kite, bake real bread, empathise with others, make incredible crafts and perform other handy feats.

- Film screenings: watch the best documentaries on environmental, social and economic issues.

- Art galleries: The works of leading contemporary artists will be on display during the festival, inspired by the issues of the day.

- Tales of how it turned out right: If we’re going to meet the social, economic and ecological challenges of our time, we need to start telling new stories about where our world is heading. Join our resident bards and recite your own transition tale in our storytelling sessions.

- Doctor’s surgeries: Get your burning questions about everything from the credit crunch to climate change answered by someone in the know.

- Five Ways to Well-being: Using nef research on easy actions to make us happier, we’ll be encouraging visitors to Connect with each other, Keep Learning, Be Active, Take Notice of the things around them, and Give something to others throughout the day.
