Event Description

Sustainable Streatham have succeeded, after much persistence, in getting their local ODEON to screen Food Inc, an incredibly important documentary that "lifts the veil on the food industry". The film will be shown in a 200-seater theatre and it would be really amazing if we could fill every seat! Please put this date in your diaries and tell all your friends:
23rd February at 8pm, Streatham ODEON. Tickets are only £5!

You can already book tickets on the Odeon's website.

A bit more about the film...
"More and more frequently, it seems, profit has been given priority over human health. Food, Inc. lifts the veil on the food industry, exposing a highly mechanised underbelly all too often hidden from the consumer."

If you can't make it on the night, or want to know what else you can do to help support this film, have a read of this advice from the UK film distributors DogWoof:

"The first week in cinemas is important for any film to make an impact and it’s often hard to convince cinemas to book documentaries over Hollywood fare. The cinema chains look at the number of tickets sold in the first week and then decide either to book the film for the following weeks in more cinemas, or to dump it in the bin!!

Other important films such as An Inconvenient Truth and The Age of Stupid started very small, but went on to have huge releases on the back of a strong start in cinemas and influence millions of people through their messages of hope and change. If we can pack out the first weekend and the nationwide screenings on 15th February, the film will gather a momentum allowing the greatest number of people possible the opportunity to see it."

Thank you Mike! I've just watched Alex Riley's doc on 'disgusting dairy' - I can't believe the Cooperative pay less than any other! So much for 'good with food'!
Seriously considering leaving the bank!
